Selection Process for Research Papers & Research Posters

Original research work completed during the last few years in the areas as mentioned in the various themes for paper presentation may be submitted for oral or poster presentation.

Criteria for Acceptance of Papers

  1. Papers must be based on scientific research and contain primarily new and quality information.
  2. Papers will be selected on the basis of scientific merit and its relevance to main theme of the Comference.
  3. The Research Paper Acceptance Committee reserves the right to accept/reject paper or change, if necessary.
  4. Review papers or reports will not be accepted.
  5. Authorship is permitted for only two papers in any of the presentation formats (in oral and/or poster) either as first, second or third author.
  6. Papers would have to be submitted in the prescribed format within the set deadline; otherwise they are liable to be rejected.
  7. The acceptance of paper will be communicated to first author as soon as possible.

Important Information Regarding Paper Presentation

  1. Submission of paper is a commitment by the author and therefore, the author(s) must register for conference. Expenses connected with submission and presentation of a paper is the responsibility of the author.
  2. Oral Presentation (during parallel session): The time allowed for oral presentation will be 10 minutes, including introduction of speaker, presentation and discussion. Audio-visual facilities will be available including facilities for multi-media presentation.
  3. Poster Presentation: Authors are to be present with their poster display for a specified period for formal discussion during the judging session. Audiovisual presentation will not be accepted as substitute for poster presentation.

Guidelines for Submission of Research Paper

  1. Submission of Abstracts (for Oral / Poster Presentation)

      The abstract must include:

    • Title (in capital letters).
    • Name(s) of author(s) underlining the presenter.
    • Complete postal address of the Institution where the author is working.
    • Aims/objectives, methodology, results/salient findings and conclusions/implications/ recommendation must be written under separate headings

    Abstract should not exceed 200 words. Graphs and figures cannot be used in the abstract. The accepted abstracts will be printed in the souvenir. The typescript will be directly used for printing the abstract; therefore adherence to the instructions is important. Abstracts that do not adhere to the instructions and submitted after deadline dates would be rejected.

  2. Guidelines for Submission of Full Papers (only for Oral Presentation)

    A soft copy (in an electronic format on a CD) of the abstract and the detailed paper should be sent before the deadline to the concerned authority. Participants are requested to submit their full length paper not exceeding 3000 words including abstract, figures, tables, references etc. using Times New Roman, font size 12, paper size – A4, double line spacing between paragraphs and single line spacing in the text, justified alignment for the entire text and a spacing of 1" along all margins (i.e top, bottom, left and right). The CD should be properly labeled with the name of the author & Institution, title of the paper, format used, etc.

Guidelines for Presentation of Research Paper

  1. Guidelines for Oral Presentation
    1. Multimedia facilities would be provided by the host institution.
    2. The time allowed for oral presentation will be 10 minutes.
    3. Authors would have to carry their respective presentations on a Pen drive and submit it to the concerned committee before the presentation.
    4. Oral presentation will be judged for
      • Organization of content
      • Confidence in presentation
      • Use of audiovisual aids
      • Innovativeness in presentation
    5. One poster in each of the discussion themes will be selected as the 'Best Paper' and would be awarded. The decision of the panel of judges would be final.
  2. Guidelines for Research Poster Display
    1. Display board of 5ft X 21/2ft size will be provided along with pins, tape, thumb tacks etc. Any other material required for poster display should be arranged by the presenter.
    2. A poster display should follow the guidelines of the abstract format, which should include title, name of the presenter and address of the institution, aims/objectives, methodology, salient findings and cnclusions/recommendations.
    3. The poster display should be legible from a distance of at least two feet and coloured letters may be used to enhance presentation.
    4. Poster presentation will be judged for
      • Relevance of the research work with the main theme of the conference
      • Organization of the data on the poster
      • Clarity of information
      • Legibility
      • Overall layout & design
      • Others
    5. One poster in each of the discussion themes will be selected as the 'Best Poster' and would be awarded. The decision of the panel of judges would be final.

Marking Format for Oral / Poster Presentation

One best paper (Oral and Poster) would be selected from each sub-theme category (to be notified later) and would be marked on the following heads as per the breakup mentioned below. A special jury would be constituted for the purpose.
